Grouping of two (2) pieces of Chinese Rose Medallion porcelain, including one (1) bottle form vase and one (1) lozenge-shaped footed dish. Each having polychrome enamel decoration throughout, including alternating vignettes with figural court and courtyard scenes and vignettes with floral, bird, and pomegranate decorations, all against a foliate background with gilt highlights throughout. Bottle vase: 13 1/2" H x 8" dia. Dish: 3 1/4" H x 14 1/4" W x 10 3/4" D. Both items 19th century.

Large platter with minor scattered surface wear to well. Deep rectangular dish with minute losses to corners. Dinner plates with scattered slight hairlines to undersides, largest measuring 3" L. Grouping of four (4) English porcelain items with Chinese figural decoration, including one (1) Minton porcelain bowl with polychrome vignettes to each side depicting Chinese boys engaging in various outdoor activities and three (3) English porcelain plates with gilt shaped cobalt rims having polychrome floral vignettes and the centers depicting females engaging in various activities in an outdoor setting, unmarked. Bowl measures 3 1/8" H x 6" dia. and plates measure 8" dia. All pieces 19th century.

The plates have serpentine rims with a wide cobalt border, stepped up with gilded sprigs and interrupted by botanical vignettes. Each plate has a large individual hand-painted landscape medallion. 9 1/4" dia. Late 18th/Early 19th century. 4th item: Coalport scalloped dessert dish having a deep cobalt ground and decorated with gilt florals and hand-painted botanical fan-shaped vignettes surrounding a center medallion. The dish is crested with bas-relief leaves and grapes. 1 1/2" H x 8" W. Early 19th century. 5th & 6th items: Matched pair of English Staffordshire New Stone sauce tureens with original covers and stands. Decorated in the Japanese taste with pomegranate finials and grapevine twisted handles. Impressed with marks and painted red numbers en verso. Tureen with cover: 6 ¾" H x 7" W. Stands: 9" dia. 1st item: Minton porcelain green ground centerpiece consisting of a reticulated round basket supported by an acanthus leaf standard surrounded by three Parian putti resting on a naturalistic ground; the whole resting on a rococo footed base and with gilt highlights throughout. Unmarked. 10 7/8" H x 10 1/4" dia. 2nd-3rd items: Pair (2) of Minton figural candlesticks having green grounds, each consisting of reeded single candleholders above three figural Parian putti resting on reeded, foliate, and swagged socle bases. The undersides of each impressed MINTON with additional impressed hallmarks including a date mark. 13 1/4" H. All items 3rd Qtr. 19th century.

Important Minton Pate-Sur-Pate porcelain tray with colored paste by Louis Marc Solon (1835-1913), made for the Paris Exposition Universelle of 1878. Rectangular "Hildesheim" form with Neoclassical handles accented in gold and platinum having dark brown-black ground with white relief decoration of four female figures in a dressing room or toilette setting; two use a ewer at a sink, while one admires herself in a hand mirror, and another selects a necklace from a box. A blue-colored paste shadow figure of Cupid stands at the center behind a draped cloth. Signed and dated "L. Solon '78" in the paste lower right, with gilded fleur de lis Minton mark for the Paris Exhibition of 1878 en verso along with incised mark and shape number 1765. 1 1/4" H x 13" W x 7" D. Metric width: 33 cm. Note: Solon rarely used colored pastes in his pate sur pate work; it usually appears only on pieces made for exhibitions.

Monogrammed lower center HS for Henry Saunders. 6 3/8" H x 5 1/2" W x 2 3/8" D. Both pieces Last Qtr. 19th century. Note: Henry Saunders was an apprentice Louis Solon at Minton beginning around 1871 until 1877. Saunders' employment was terminated at Minton in 1877 and he subsequently joined the Moore Brothers that same year and remained there until around 1893.

Minton, Lawrence Birks, Pate-Sur-Pate vase on dark brown ground, amphora form, having a flared circular base, scrolled twin handles, and narrow neck all decorated with gilt highlights including bead course, Greek key, and scale patterns; and having slip relief decoration of Venus and Cupid on one side and a wreath of crossed palms and roses on the reverse. Monogrammed "LB" for Lawrence Birks, decorator at Minton's factory working 1871-1894, below relief decoration on front of vase. Fitted as a table lamp mounted with brass mounting topped with a laurel wreath finial. Vase: 12" H. The whole: 27" H x 7" W x 5" D. English, late 19th century.

A Mintons Pate-Sur-Pate dark olive green colored urn form vase, slip-decorated by Albion Birks. The classical scene features a draped, seated woman, likely Aphrodite, attending to a smoking brazier on her lap, which is issuing smoke interspersed with pairs of wrestling putti. The reverse shows a slip-decorated burning torch, with more putti above the flames. Gold draped laurel handles flank the sides. Signed "ABirks" on lower right side of stepped base for Albion Birks. Base with gilt globe Mintons stamp along with incised marks "Mintons" and shape number 2449. 12" H. Circa 1900.

Pair of Minton's Pate-Sur-Pate cabinet plates, possibly decorated by Albion Birks, each with pierced and gilded fret-decorated rims surrounding a wide border with white slip-decorated birds, butterflies, and flowers, enclosing a central medallion with crown, cipher, and sheaf of wheat motifs. Stamped Minton's China en verso with retailer mark of T. Goode & Co. London. Impressed English registry marks with other assorted numerical markings. 9 1/2" diameter. Circa 1874.

Retailer mark for Davis Collamore & Co., Ltd., New York to the base together with Red Royal Crown Derby mark, date mark for 1902, and additional impressed marks. 8 3/4" dia. 13th item: Royal Crown Derby porcelain basket, squared form raised on an oval pedestal base with pierced handles in the Old Imari pattern, with gilt highlights throughout. Assembled set of twenty-two (22) KPM porcelain parcel gilt items. 1st-7th items: Seven (7) cabinet plates with polychrome painted vignettes to well, including six (6) small plates depicting landmarks of Berlin, labeled with location and impressed with eagle mark to undersides (7" dia.); one (1) cabinet plate with a pastoral landscape scene, inscribed with artist's information and date en verso and additionally stamped with blue scepter mark (9 3/8" dia.). 8th-22nd items: Fifteen (15) tableware items with thin accent blue band, including six (6) tea cups, six (6) saucers, one (1) footed creamer, one (1) footed and lidded sugar bowl with two handles, and one (1) footed centerpiece bowl. Rare Meissen porcelain hand-painted fish set comprising sixteen (16) total pieces: twelve (12) plates, one (1) platter, one (1) sauceboat with attached underplate, one (1) serving/tureen spoon with foliate handle and gilt highlights, and one (1) bowl. Each pieces is individually decorated with a different type of fish swimming with varied items in the background including, ships, fishing boats, barrels, dock fragments, baskets, and landscape. German Meissen porcelain figural group depicting the Roman god Bacchus atop a wine barrel, draped with a leopard skin, holding a glass in his right hand and a scepter in the other with one cupid, one satyr, and one female attendant at his feet, all posed on a naturalistic base. Underside with blue underglaze crossed swords mark together with 126 (impressed) and 630X (incised). 12" H x 10" W x 5 1/2" D. 19th century.

1st item: German Meissen Rococo style tall porcelain figural two-part centerpiece consisting of an oval reticulated bowl, with handles, supported on a central standard with putti engaging in various allegorical activities relating to the four seasons, atop a round rococo base, with raised applied flower and leaf decoration; gilt highlights throughout. Underside with blue underglaze crossed swords mark, 28, and other incised numbers. Together with a conforming rocaille base with matching decoration also marked with blue underglaze crossed swords mark and other incised numbers. Centerpiece alone measures 16" H x 15 1/2" W x 10 3/4" D. Overall with base: 20 1/4" H. 2nd item: A convertible German Meissen Rococo style figural candelabra/candlestick consisting of a removable three-arm candleholder above a branch-style standard adorned with two putti representing autumn and winter and a scrolled footed base; raised applied floral and fruit decoration and gilt highlights throughout. The removable arm and base are likely not original to each other. The base underside has blue underglaze crossed swords mark and other incised numbers. 19 1/4" H x 10 1/2" dia. Four (4) pieces Russian Imperial Porcelain from the Kremlin Dessert Service made for Tsar Nicholas I and designed by Fyodor Grigorievich Solntsev (1801-1892), including two (2) tazzas or competes (3 1/2" H x 8 5/8" dia.) and two (2) plates (9" dia.). Solntsev's design incorporated traditional Russian stylized blossoms on a gilt ground, with foliate sprays encircling the Imperial double-headed eagle and the Cyrillic title of Nicholas I. Unmarked. Biscuit de Sevres bust of Napoleon Bonaparte, modeled as a young man in uniform and mounted onto a round cobalt glazed porcelain base. Imp de Sevres" mark to underside. 5" H x 4 1/2" W x 3 1/4" D. 19th century. 2nd item: Royal Vienna porcelain tea caddy or perfume jar hand-painted with scenes of Jupiter and Calisto on one side and Rinaldo and Armida on the other. 1st item: Sevres for Chateau des Tuileries tazza or compote depicting a hand-painted interior scene of two gentlemen smoking a pipe, signed "D Teniers", lower edge, having a scalloped rim with floral vignettes and gilt foliate decoration on a blue ground, and raised on a shallow, round foot. After a portion of a work by David (The Younger) Teniers II (Belgium/Flemish, 1610-1690) titled "Smoking Peasants (Pipe Smokers)", now in the Slovak National Gallery. The painting may be based on a print after Teniers' work as the image departs from the original and is reversed. Marks for Sevres, Chateau de Tuileries, and Louis Phillipe. Circa 1840 to underside. 2" H x 9" dia. 2nd-3rd items: Pair of two (2) Sevres portrait cabinet plates depicting central images of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette surrounded by raised enamel jeweling, with medallion decoration featuring green fleur des lis against a cobalt ground, gilt highlights, and a crown above garland monograms with the initials of the sitters, "MA" for Marie Antoinette, and "LL" for the King. With Serves mark dated 1787 to underside, sitter's names, and "LG" mark attributing the work to Etienne-Henry Le Guay, (1719-1799). Each 9 1/2" dia. 4th-5th items: Pair (2) of Sevres style cachepots or wine coolers, each having blue ground and hand-painted vignettes to each side, including one (1) depicting mythological scenes of a soldier leaving for battle and soldiers at camp and one (1) depicting flowers, birds, and instruments. LCT Louis Comfort Tiffany Favrile art glass trumpet vase with flared rim, turned body, and iridescent surface inserted into a separate gilt bronze "dore" finished base with a naturalistic round foot and narrow sleeve. Signed "L.C.T." and "Favrille" to the narrow end of the glass. The underside of base is impressed with "LCT" monogram logo, "Louis C. Pair (2) Loetz Art Nouveau gilt and silver metal mounted iridescent green art glass vases, both with bulbous necks and flared bases, and an onion skin or crackle finish. Each is fitted with a gilt metal overlay of a silvered metal female holding a bird and standing upon a pad that extends up the vase body to form handles below the neck. The cups are raised on animal paw feet with twisted snake handles decorated in gilt and fitted with domed covers having gilt finials. Saucer marked on the underside in blue. Cups measure 4 1/2" H (w/ cover), saucer measures 5 1/2" dia. German, late 19th century. Note: Georg Heufel & Co. was a Dresden decorating shop founded by its namesake around 1891. Russian Enameled Metal Cup or "Khodynka Cup of Sorrows," commemorating the 1896 coronation of Tsar Nicholas II, bearing the cyphers of Nicholas II and his wife, Alexandra Feodorovna to one side and the Romanov eagle on the other, divided by geometric patterns. 4" H x 3 3/4" dia. Late 19th century. Note: These cups were originally produced to be given, along with other free tokens, to Russian citizens celebrating the coronation at a festival outside Moscow in a meadow called Khodynka. The cups came to be called "blood cups" or "Khodynka Cups of Sorrow" after a massive crowd stampeded to claim the gifts, crushing an estimated 2,000 people to death. Nicholas and Alexandra were not present, having chosen instead to dance at a ball, and the tragedy resulted in Nicholas being nicknamed "Bloody Nicholas". He was ultimately the last tsar of Russia under Romanov rule, which ended during the Russian Revolution. Nicholas II abdicated on March 15, 1917, and he and his family were killed by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

A large Italian majolica charger or platter by The Societa Ceramica de Colonnata of the Fiorentino region of Italy. It depicts the legendary battle against the roosters of Marcus Valerius Corvus/Corvinus (Marcus Valerius Corvus/Corvinus), as described by the Roman historian Livy, to the center with a wide mustard ground rim depicting Raffaellesco Grotesques. Titled, with maker's hallmark and numbered on the base. 20 1/4" dia. Probably early 20th century.

The centers are embellished with raised gilt impasto tracery and frame a hand-painted scene of frolicking cherubs holding doves or playing instruments. Bases with blue Meissen crossed swords and double slash mark and impressed numbers 317. Each 8 3/4" dia. Late 19th century. 3rd & 4th items: Two (2) Fischer & Mieg porcelain oyster plates, each with hand-painted foliate edges with gilt highlights and scalloped rimes, the centers each containing five oyster wells and a central dipping well with gradient pink ground. Set of three (3) European porcelain figures, including Royal Crown Derby, all attired in bright polychrome decorated Renaissance style costumes with large hats and depicted standing on naturalistic round bases. The largest figure with Royal Crown Derby mark to the underside together with incised numbers and the smaller ones with purple D mark, possibly for Edme Samson. Ranging in size from 5 5/8" H to 6 1/2" H. Note: These figures were originally created by Robert Bloor for Derby, and were inspired from a series of drawings by Jacques Callot's entitled, "Grosteque Dwarves." According to history, the figures were actually real-life persons of short stature who were hired to stand outside of the Mansion House in London wearing advertisements on their large hats.
