“We’re grateful to be attracting an increasing number of buyers, consignments and appraisal requests from the Chattanooga area. This office allows us to work more closely with collectors, estate attorneys and executors, trust officers and institutions here. We launched this company in 2005 to bring integrity, excellence, and an international reach to the sale of fine art, antiques and jewelry in Tennessee. Customers no longer have to send their finest pieces out of state in order to get the best price, or the best possible stewardship of their estates or collections.”
- John Case
Case recently gaveled paintings deaccessioned by Chattanooga’s Hunter Museum of Art, along with a circa 1940 limestone sculpture by William Edmondson of Nashville for $540,000. This also included a pair of historic 19th century Tennessee portraits by Ralph Earl, which sold to Colonial Williamsburg for $42,000. A book signed by George Washington, from the Chattanooga estate of Charles Boyd Coleman, made national headlines when it sold at Case for $138,000. The July, 2020 auction, which attracted more than 7,000 registered bidders from more than 50 countries, included luxury jewelry from the estate of Kathleen Preston of Chattanooga and important silver from the estate of Marion “Bit” Hutcheson of Happy Valley Farms.
