Antique Tekke Turkmen Ensi rug or carpet, near square form, wool on wool. Traditional designs including an unusual running goat border to the top, four center windows, and a latticework elem border at the base. Overall red field with secondary colors of blue and cream. 4'' 10" x 4'' 1". Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa estate.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with some wear and losses to the top border, even wear and good pile, with minor losses to fringe. Homemade denim hangers to top verso.
