An early Tennessee coin silver ladle with fiddle pattern handle and distinctive pointed fins. The handle stamped E. RAWORTH in a rectangle for Edward Raworth (Nashville, Tennessee, working 1808-1820). Monogrammed “M”. Approximately 13 1/2 in. L. 5.68 troy ounces. Note: According to TENNESSEE SILVERSMITHS by Dr. Benjamin H. Caldwell, Edward Raworth was one of Nashville’s earliest silversmiths, working there as early as 1808. His final ad ran in 1820, noting that he was leaving town; he died in 1835.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition with light surface wear and few minor dimples to the bowl.
