Lot 879: 14 Chinese Snuff Bottles: Glass, Agate, Hardstone

A collection of fourteen (14) assorted Chinese snuff bottles, including 1 Agate with metal sheathing studded with turquoise color stones (several are missing) and affixed to a wood stand; 1 Agate with russet inclusions, having carved handles and metal stopper studded with red and green stones; 1 Agate with molded sides and celadon colored lid; 1 molded quartz with ribbed sides possibly agate stopper; 1 large solid apple green glass with lighter celadon stopper; 1 solid white glass or hardstone with rose hardstone stopper (chip to side, chip to stopper); 1 brown glass with amber color glass stopper; 1 swirled green/brown glass of rounded form (crack to stopper); 1 celadon hardstone flatback bottle with russet inclusions and matching stopper; 1 mottled blue/green/brown hardstone of rounded form; 1 green hardstone with amethyst highlights, carved in a bird/flower/cloud pattern with white hardstone stopper; 1 dark glass with gold flecks; 1 mottled brown and white; and 1 mottled white and yellow glass.  Sizes range from 2 in. H to 3 1/2 in. H. 

PROVENANCE: Private Tennessee Collection, 

CONDITION: Some natural imperfections to agate and quartz examples. Some stone lid covers detached, some spoons missing. Some stopper caps affixed with museum putty. Some stoppers may not be original. Overall good condition except where noted in description.
