Eleven (11) assorted Chinese Snuff Bottles, including 1 Qing Famille Rose example with handpainted overglaze scene of figures in landscape, underglaze blue scrollwork and mark to underside, with rose quartz stopper; 1 with underglaze blue and iron red decoration of a theatrical scene, possibly Kangxi; 1 with blue underglaze decoration of foo lion and carp on iron red waves and green hardstone stopper; 1 crackle glaze, possibly Geyao porcelain example with coral colored glass stopper; a pair of 2 double gourd porcelain examples, each with differing animal decoration on a yellow and turquoise glazed ground (tiger, goat, rabbit, monkey), signed to underside; 1 double cloisonne example with bird and flower vignettes on yellow ground; 1 Canton enamel floral decorated with pink quartz stopper; 1 cinnabar; 1 marked sterling with landscape design having gilt highlights; and 1 Lac Burgaute shell inlaid footed example with floral decoration. Sizes range from 1 3/4 to 3 3/4 in. H.
PROVENANCE: Private Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: Famille Rose bottle has restorations. Blue and Red bottle with theatrical scene has small rim chips. Crackle glaze bottle has staining, wear, and small losses to underside. La Burguate bottle with some fine surface cracking. Cloisonne stopper cap affixed with museum putty.
