Large Chinese gilt bronze mounted cloisonne “tusk” on fitted hardwood stand. The cloisonne “tusk” features polychrome dragons chasing flaming pearls through a cloud filled sky on a blue ground, accented by gilt bronze central panel, banding, and caps at each end. The hardwood stand features openwork carved clouds and organic forms on a molded, footed base. “Tusk”: 43 in. L x 6 in. Diameter at widest. Stand:12 in. H x 20 in. W x 6 in. D. Early to mid 20th century. Note: this lot does not contain any actual animal material.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Scattered wear/discoloration and pock marks to cloisonne; scattered oxidation/discoloration and dents to gilt elements.
