Lot 591: Symphonion Rococo Music Box plus 15 Discs

Symphonion Rococo 25C music box with pressed wood case having relief carved courting figures, scroll and shell decoration to exterior and the original Symphonion velvet lid insert to interior. Double combs with 84 teeth in a “Sublime Harmony” set up with wood handle on metal crank. Comes with 15 discs. Case: 19 1/2 in. L x 15 1/4 in. W x 10 1/2 in. D. Discs are 12 in. W. German, late 19th/early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: The collection of Mr. and Mrs. David Allen, Springfield, Tennessee.

CONDITION: The music box works at the time of inspection. Case with lacquer/resin overlay with some chips and losses to edges.  Discs with wear.
