Regina Music Box Company music box, Style Number 10, with unusual ventilated “pagoda” top, considered one of the most ornate cases Regina offered. The underside of the lid features a Regina lithograph depicting a Greek goddess and cherub scene, copyright 1899 Regina Music Box Company. Interior with raised Regina mark, brass arm, and double comb mechanism with exterior crank handle. Includes 26 discs and a reference book, Encyclopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments, where this model is featured on page 188. Vestal Press, 9th Edition. 22 3/4 in. W x 20 1/2 in. D x 15 3/4 in. H. Discs are approximately 15 1/2 in. Late 19th century.
CONDITION: Functional at time of inspection, but service is recommended. Exterior case in overall very good condition. Interior lid shows a 6 inch scratch where the metal discs have rubbed the surface. Interior lithograph with tear, creasing, and old tape to perimeter. Serial number not present. Missing key. 23 discs are in overall good condition, with scattered oxidation and bending to some edges. 3 discs appear to be later. Book is in very good condition.
