Three (3) American swords including Civil War era and post-war. 1st item: Staff Officer sword, blade with foliate and military motifs and marked "Baker McKinney NY" above ricasso. Brass hilt with folding clamshell guard decorated with military motifs and wire design grip. Blade: 29 1/2" L. Overall: 35 1/4" L. 2nd item: 1862 NCO sword with brass clamshell guard and wire design grip, ricasso stamped "C. Roby / W. Chelmsford M.S." and "U.S. 1862 / E.S.S." to other side. Brass-mounted leather scabbard with belt hook, detached drag. Tip of drag stamped "A.D.K." Blade: 31 1/2" L. Overall with scabbard: 39" L. 3rd item: Musician Sword with brass hilt and wire design grip. Ricasso stamped "Horstmann, Philadelphia" and F to other side. Retains top portion of brass-mounted leather scabbard with belt hook. Blade: 28" L. Overall: 34 1/4" L.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Oxidation, areas of pitting and few nicks to blades. 2nd item: Scabbard in two pieces, section of loss to leather. 3rd item: Lower section of scabbard missing.
