American (Ohio) Muzzle Loading Double Trigger Percussion Long Rifle, .36 caliber, marked P. Kane for Peter Kane (1816-1898, Hocking County, Ohio) on the top of octagonal barrel. Front blade sight, semi-buckhorn rear sights, faux tiger maple wood stock, double-set triggers, and wooden ramrod. Brass butt plate, trigger guard, and forend cap. Overall 52" L. Barrel 36" L.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Eldridge "Dit" Shively, White Pine, TN.
CONDITION: Losses to stock around a mended lock plate. Crack on right of stock. Holes in forestock from absent barrel pins. Action is fair; hammer sets with rear trigger and front trigger releases it. Hammer cone broken. Bore with oxidation.
