Large Currier and Ives two-color lithograph with later hand coloring, titled “Winter in the Country – The Old Grist Mill” after the painting by George Henry Durrie (Connecticut, 1820-1863), lithographed and published by Currier and Ives, New York, 1864. Signed and dated “G. H. Barrie 1862″ in the plate, lower right. Title and publication information, lower left, right, and center under image. Housed under glass in a burlwood frame with gilt liner. Sight: 21 5/8 in. H x 29 1/8 in. W. Framed: 26 1/2″ H x 33 3/4” W. Ref. Cunningham “Currier and Ives Prints, no. 6738; no. 12 of “Best Fifty”.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition, light fading and toning. Not examined out of frame.
