Margaret Wehrley (Wisconsin, 20th c.) oil on canvas painting entitled "Ice Fishing," depicting three men fishing at night by lantern light and headlamp on a frozen lake. An old fence flanked by trees runs through the snowy foreground and hilly woodlands are visible in the distance. Gesturally rendered primarily in shades of blue with orange highlights describing the foliage. With areas of impasto possibly laid down using a palette knife. Signed "WEHRLEY," lower left, and titled "Ice Fishing" to back of stretcher. Unframed. Canvas: 24" H x 36" W.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Excellent condition.
