1st Item: Tabletop book press with acorn finial, turned column, and double handle. All wood construction with a dove-tailed base and mortise and tenon joinery. Velvet bottom. 19 3/4 in. H x 14 in. W x 9 in. D. 2nd Item: Mahogany cheese carrier or coaster/caddy, curved form with a divided interior. Half-turned ends with roundels to the top corners. Dovetailed rectangular base with four brass revolving castors on the bottom. 7 in. H x 10 in. W. x 7 in. D. 3rd Item: Mahogany desk or book caddy with a dovetailed stationary drawer and bone pulls. Turned handles and balusters along a center divider, with S-formed ends and bun feet. Interior of drawer has a chamfered bottom and the following text faintly written in ink inside: “W I H 7 F R 6 M H S”. 8 3/4 in. H x 15 3/4 in. W x 10 1/4 in. D. All items English, late 19th to early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Ian M. Mathison, Murfreesboro TN and Big Rapids, MI.
CONDITION: All items overall very good condition. 1st item: Some creasing to velvet edge on bottom. 2nd item: Some cracks to the interior and slight dings to the exterior consistent with use. Castors may be later or restored. 2nd item: Horizontal crack along the bottom board.
