Continental, likely Greek or Italian carved marble sculpture head of Heracles (Hercules) wearing the carcass of the Nemean Lion, after the 1st century Roman Imperial portrait of the King of Pontus Mithridates VI as Heracles in the collection of the Louvre, Paris. Overall: 16 in. H x 10 in. W x 9 in. D. 19th century or earlier.

PROVENANCE: A Nashville, TN estate. 

CONDITION: General wear and weathering from outdoor exposure, losses to base, superficial fissures, scratch to nose, scattered pock marks and grime.
