Lot 245: American Folk Art Orange Tree Quilt, Mid 19th C.

Orange Tree pattern quilt, hand quilted, hand appliqued and hand pieced; all cotton with solid cheddar yellow and green fabrics on a solid white background and all white cotton thread. Hand stitched feathered wreath and cross hatch design to white ground. Separate white hand stitched binding. Very thin lightweight cotton batting. 81 in x 82 in. American, circa 1850s-60s.

CONDITION: Overall very good condition for age. There are a couple of small holes with patches to the backing where stains have disintegrated the fabric, and a few other light scattered minor stains to the backing.
