East TN pieced and applique quilt, Rose of Sharon pattern, consisting of vivid red, green, cheddar, and pink cotton fabrics on a white ground with a red border and binding. Overall quilted parallel lines. 77 in. x 72 in. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Memphis collection, purchased May 2011, from Case Auctions, Lot 186. Originally from the late J. N. Lonas Estate, Knoxville TN.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition, fading to green fabrics in one quadrant, with slight staining to folding.
