Rembrandt van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669) etching on Ingres d’Arches laid paper, “The Card Player.” A man shown in bust-length examines a set of playing cards. Signed and dated in plate, center left. From the Millennium edition of 2500 co-printed by Emiliano Sorini and Marjorie Van Dyke from Rembrandt’s original plate. Housed under acrylic in a giltwood frame with cream double-mat and black reveals. Sight: 6 in. H x 6 1/2 in. W. Framed: 24 3/4 in. H x 25 1/4 in. W. 1641, printed 1995.
