Early 20th-century or earlier. 5th-9th items: Five Adolphe Braun albumen silver print photographs including Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam, Sistine Chapel, and his marble statue of Moses, San Pietro in Vincoli, Rome; Lo Spagna/Giovanni di Pietro’s drawing of the head of an old man (a study for Saint Joseph of Arimathea), Louvre, Paris; Raphael’s sheet of studies for a Madonna and Child, Uffizi Gallery, Florence; and a sepia-tint photograph of sheet of studies of a woman attributed to Michelangelo, Bibliotheque Ambrosienne, Milan. All with printed “Adolphe Braun, Phot.” printed at lower left of mounts plus captions. All mounted to card. Photographs range from 7 1/2 in. H x 5 1/8 in. W. to 18 7/8 in. H x 14 3/4 in. W. CONDITION: All photographs are in overall very good condition. Both Adolphe Braun Vatican collection photographs have negligible chips or tears without loss to the upper center edge. Mounts with scattered stains, creases, tears, waviness, and losses.
