Item 1: Solid body carved and painted bluebill drake decoy with glass eyes and original paint. Marked with a paper label to the underside: “Bluebill Drake By Herman Borenz Montello, Wisc. (Lake Puckaway) c – 1925.”. 6 3/4 in. H x 14 1/2 in. L. Item 2: Carved and painted hen decoy, unsigned but attributed to Ward. Retains lead weights, original paint, solid body, and glass eyes. 7 1/2 in. H x 13 in. L. Both decoys of the 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Marty and David Black, Rockford, TN.
CONDITION: Both decoys in overall good condition with scattered general wear and losses to paint. Hen has wood shrinkage crack to underside and back. Neck has slight separation at body, but does not come off. Weights have been removed from bluebill drake underside.
