1st Item: Reelfoot style duck call with label “Earl Dennison / “The Duck Call Man” / Newbern Tennessee,” circa 1950. Note: Earl Dennison (1889-1968) was a game call maker and designer who grew up and guided on Reelfoot Lake in West Tennessee. After his death, his son and grandson took over the business until the storefront was closed in 1993. (Courtesy of Mossy Oak). 2nd item: Bespoke duck call carved with crosshatch pattern from dark wood featuring the monogram “JHP,” circa 20th century. 3rd item: contemporary carved Blue-winged Teal decoy stamped 30 to the underside. Wood display stand included. Ranging in size from 5 1/2″ H x 1 1/2″ W to 4 1/2″ H x 11 1/4″ W.
PROVENANCE: Living Estate of Sally Johnson Harlan.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with slight wear to the label; has intact reed and produces noise when operated. 2nd item: Overall good condition with slight wear to edges; does not contain reed and has not been tested with any reed to observe its functionality. 3rd item: Overall good condition with light general wear.
