James Rosenquist (American, 1933-2017), color lithograph, “Flame Out for Picasso.” Measuring tape wrapped around two pencils bisects the composition. The left half, printed in red, includes the image of a coin, while the right half, printed in dark blue, resembles crumpled paper. From the edition of 15 artist’s proofs aside from the edition of 150 created for the America’s Hommage à Picasso portfolio published by Propylaen Verlag, Berlin. Signed, dated, editioned EA 4/15, and titled in pencil along the lower edge. Ref.: Glenn 65. Floated under acrylic in an ebonized wood frame with white mat. Sheet: 29 1/2 in. H x 22 in. W. Framed: 42 1/2 in. H x 33 in. W. 1973.
CONDITION: Overall, in very good condition. Not examined out of frame. Frames with minor abrasions and losses, especially to the corners.
