Miniature portrait of Prussian Generalleutnant Oberst Heinrich-Johann Gunther in uniform, unsigned watercolor on ivory, in gold metal case, engraved en verso "General v. Gunther, 1736-1803". Gunther was awarded the "Pour le Merite" in 1789. Very good condition, frame has normal wear. Framed: 2 3/4" H x 2 1/4" W. Continental, late 18th century.
