Lot 998: 3 Portrait Miniatures incl. Napoleon on Battlefield, Madonna & Child

Three (3) miniature Continental watercolor portraits, including one (1) depicting Napoleon on horseback on the battlefield, illegibly signed lower right; one (1) depicting the Madonna and Christ Child, in gilt metal frame marked for Johann Heindl, Vienna; and one (1) oval portrait of a lady wearing a floral festooned bonnet. Portrait sizes 2 1/2 in x 1 3/4 in to 3 1/2 in x 2 1/2 in; largest frame 5 in x 4 in. Late 19th to early 20th century. 

CONDITION: Circular stain to Napoleon portrait; the wafer has some small edge chips. Portrait of a lady has some light exfoliation to background and the frame is in poor condition with cracks and losses. Madonna and Child portrait in good condition with minor oxidation to frame, tip of frame bent.
