Antique Turkmen Tekke Ensi rug, wool on wool construction. Four central windows or panels with bird head designs and wide lower elem panel with diagonal flower designs. Woven in dark rust, salmon, blue, brown, and cream colors. Measures 5 ft 2 in x 4 ft 1 in. Fourth quarter of the 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: Losses to pile to upper edge and old vertical repair to upper center crease. Losses to the lower end right corner and fringe losses to each end.
