Antique Ersari Turkmen Ensi rug, wool on wool. Traditional design including two central mihrabs flanked by four central panels or windows to the center, all on a dark red or rust filed within three main borders having geometric and chevron decoration. Secondary colors of blue, cream, and salmon. 47 1/4" X 62". Last Qtr. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: Some pile wear to the center with some scattered abrash and fading to colors. Approx. 1/2" loss to lower left quadrant. Losses to fringe at both ends.
