Two (2) Art Deco Period color lithograph posters from Les Maitres de l’Affiche: Le Sillon by Fernand Toussaint and Quinquina Dubonnet by Jules Cheret. 1st item: Fernand Toussaint (Belgium, 1873-1956) color lithograph of a winged woman who harvests flowers with a sickle, 1897. After the artist’s 1895 poster that advertised an exhibition by the Brussels-based artist group Le Sillon (The Furrow). Printed by Impremiere Chaix, Paris, with blind stamp lower right. Housed under glass in a distressed silvered wood frame with grey mat, red reveals, and a beaded gilt fillet. Sight: 10 1/2 in H x 8 in W. Framed: 21 1/2 in H x 19 1/8 in W. 2nd item: Jules Cheret (France, 1836-1932) color lithograph of a seated woman who wears a green hat and dress and drinks Dubonnet while accompanied by a white cat, 1898. After the artist’s 1895 poster. Printed by Impremiere Chaix, Paris, with blind stamp lower right. Housed under glass in a rusticated gilt and silvered wood frame with red mat with white French line and black, gold, and pale blue reveals. Sight: 12 1/4 in x 9 1/4 in W. Framed: 22 1/2 in H x 18 1/2 in W.

CONDITION: 1st item in overall very good condition. 2nd item with 2 3/4″ L tear without loss to figure’s lower legs and dress. Not examined outside of frames. 2nd item’s frame with minor abrasions and losses.
