John Baeder (American, b. 1938), "Dave Brubeck, Atlanta, 1962," archival digital print, housed under plexiglass in a simple black frame with ivory mat. Signed lower right, editioned 1/5 lower left. Sight 27" H x 19 1/2" W. Framed: 39" H x 30 1/2" W. Note: Dave Brubeck (1920-2012) was an American jazz pianist and composer. His Quartet''s 1959 album "Time Out" with its non-standard time signatures ushered in a new era of "Cool Jazz"; the track "Take Five" became hugely popular, helping to bring jazz into the mainstream, and remains a jazz standard. Note: John Baeder first experimented as a young artist through the camera lens, capturing humanity in everyday America while on numerous road trips throughout the South. In the 1970s, Baeder turned to painting, predominately photorealistic depictions of ordinary Americana, and is best known for his diners and roadside attractions.
