Pair of porcelain baskets, oval form with entwined handles and applied floral buds and leaves at the terminus, pierced circle sides with applied florets at the intersections, the interiors hand painted with fruit and insects including butterflies. Unmarked, possibly Worcester. 3-1/2"H (including handle) x 9" x 6". English, circa 1770. Provenance: the estate of Margaret Wemyss Connor, Nashville, Tennessee. Condition: Hairlines to interior bottoms, light wear to paint and small breaks at the edges of some applied florets, couple of fleabites to handles.
