A collection of marbles including German handmades, agate, pottery (Benningtons), and early / vintage machine-made marbles, including Alley, Akro Agates and Peltier, among others. 1st Items: Five German handmade marbles including one large latticinio core swirl (2 5/8 in.), one ribbon core (2 1/4 in.), one ribbon core swirl (1 3/4 in.), two small latticinio core swirls (3/4 in. and 11/16 in.). 2nd Items: Assortment of approx. 200 Bennington, clay, and agate marbles, ranging in size from 5/16 in. up to 1 1/4 in. Benningtons include brown, blue, and fancy; clays include beige, red, brown; agates include various banded examples and one tiger-eye. 3rd Items: Assortment of approx. 200 early to mid 20th C. machine made marbles, including examples from Alley, Akro, and Peltier, and possibly Christensen, Vitro, Marble King, etc. All machine-mades approx. 5/8 in. Many examples in the collection fluoresce under UV light.
CONDITION: The two largest German marbles with multiple chips; medium ribbon core swirl in clear, fine condition with minor roughing. Most of the collection with halos of soiling to “bottoms” from resting in water.
