Three (3) small boxes, including a French boulle marquetry perfume box. 1st item: Perfume box, rectangular form with canted corners and serpentine front, having hinged lid with latch, foliate boulle marquetry throughout, escutcheon, and fabric-lined interior fitted for two perfume bottles. Zimberc Paris sticker label to fitted interior. Includes two glass, rectangular perfume bottles fitted with gilt brass foliate neck and hinged, rosette-shaped lid having painted figural landscape vignette which opens to internal, glass stopper. 3 1/2" H x 4 5/8" W x 3" D. French, late 19th century. 2nd – 3rd items: Two (2) small snuff boxes, including one (1) circular lacquered box with geometric and rosette decoration to lid (7/8" H x 3" dia.); and one (1) elongated oval form box, possibly horn, with hinged lid and line detailing (1 1/2" H x 4 1/4" W x 1 3/8" D). Both unmarked. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Williamson County, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: 1st item: Scattered losses and oxidation to boullework, largest area measuring 3/8" x 4"; partial detachment of boullework to lid. Wear to fabric lining, including partial detachment of cord border. Perfume bottles with scattered residue to interiors and minute scattered denting to brass. 2nd – 3rd items: Both items in overall good condition with scattered slight wear to lacquer. Circular form with loss to inner rim measuring 1/4" x 1".
