Two Italian School, early 20th century, watercolor landscape paintings depicting Venice. One is horizontally oriented and depicts a gondolier in a Venetian canals, the other is vertically oriented and depicts figures walking along the edge of a Venetian harbor. Each signed “Longega” lower right. Mounted under glass in cream mats with matching whitewashed silver-gilt frames having pierced scrolled edge ornamentation. 1st item: Sight: 22 3/4 in. W x 11 in. H . Frame: 37 in. W x 25 in. H. 2nd item: Sight: 19 1/2 in. H x 14 1/2 in. W. Frame: 33 in. H x 27 in. W.
PROVENANCE: Private Chattanooga area collection.
CONDITION: Scattered foxing to paper. Vertical painting with small dark inclusion to sky area. Horizontal frame with small losses to carved edges, up to 1 inch. Both frames with some surface paint losses and scattered minor repairs.
