European mahogany tantalus or cave a liqueur set, ebonized exterior with gilt brass-bordered, cut glass panes on bun feet having double-hinged top. Opens to a removable fitted compartment with gilt brass hardware in two levels having etched designs containing a twelve (12) piece glass barware set with four (4) decanters and eight (8) cordials. Retains key marked "Taylor" and "658". 11 7/8" H x 13 5/8" W x 10 3/8" D. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Collection of John H. and Carol R. Evans, Farragut, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Case with scattered minor age splits throughout. Two repaired splits to floor of case measuring 8 1/4" L. Possible repairs to both front corners of case. Minute scattered wear to glass. Barware in overall excellent condition.
