George Vicat Cole (English, 1833-1893) oil on board coastal landscape painting with two figures by a dinghy and before two beached sailboats. Two other boats sail in the distance at right. Mongrammed VC, lower left. With C. E. Clifford, Artists Colourman prepared panel label affixed to verso. Housed in an ornate giltwood frame. Sight: 9 1/2" H x 11 5/16" W. Framed: 18" H x 20" W. Note: Charles Edward Clifford operated at the 30 Piccadilly, London address listed on this label from 1848-1887.
PROVENANCE: Private Middle Tennessee Estate.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Negligible, very fine diagonal cracking throughout.
