18th century Spanish flintlock pistol, .69 caliber. Carved stocks with engraved silver and brass details. Bulbous styled butt with a finely flared pommel and a long and slender forestock. The stirrup-type butt cap has long etched side terminals and a scroll-engraved pommel with sharp etchings and a deeply embossed pommel cap. Overall: 19.5" L; Barrel 13" L.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Eldridge "Dit" Shively, White Pine, TN.
CONDITION: Considerable wear to the stock. Shrinkage between the wood and metal pieces on the underside and to the bottom of the grip. Missing piece of wood on right side near barrel. Ramrod absent, ramrod collars compressed. Hammer operates stiffly, holding half and full cock and releasing with trigger pull.
