Group of four (4) carved and painted duck decoys including: one (1) drake canvasback attributed to Frank Resop (WI, 1894-1968) with label to base reading "Drake Can – Made by Frank Resop – Berlin, Wisc., c-1920-30, Old repaint by Steve Knoll his helper" and additionally branded S K; one (1) drake canvasback, possibly Mason Factory (Detroit, MI), marked "C. E. Heyl" to the base; one (1) blue-billed drake branded HGG to the base; and one (1) canvasback drake branded RB to the base. Ranging in size from 6 3/4" H x 14 1/2" L to 8" H x 15 1/2" L. All 1st half 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: All decoys with age and use wear including losses to paint, shrinkage, and scattered wear to body. Resop attributed decoy with old repaint, possible repair to neck. Heyl decoy with shrinkage to the back. HGG branded decoy with shrinkage to one side. RB branded decoy with gunshot damage.
