1st item: English mahogany rectangular coffin-form caddy with a hinged tent lid, brass flower basket handle, bone escutcheon, wood inlays, and bun feet. The interior central compartment is flanked by two lidded storage compartments fitted with brass handles. Red paper lining under the lid. Includes key. 7 in. H x 11 3/8 in. W x 6 in. D. 2nd item: English mahogany bombe form caddy with hinged cavetto-style lid. Marbled paper under the lid and bottom of the box. Interior fitted with two divided tea compartments with inlaid covers. Brass ball feet. 5 in. H x 7 1/2 in. W x 4 1/2 in. D. Both caddies 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Ian M. Mathison, Murfreesboro TN and Big Rapids, MI.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition. Slight cracking on the top right side of the lid, consistent with age. The key turns inside the lock, but the lock does not close. 2nd item: Overall good condition. Missing key.
