A Japanese Edo Period four-panel polychrome watercolor, gouache, and gilt screen depicting the Tale of Genji or Genji Monogatari, featuring various figures in interior scenes and landscape scenes with gilt cloud-like borders to the top and bottom. Housed in an ebonized wood frame. Retains two wrought iron wall hangers. 31 78″ in. H x 64 7/8 in. W. Circa 1850.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some scattered losses to paint and foxing or darkening to some areas. Minor wear and scattered losses to frame.
