Chinese watercolor and ink on silk landscape scroll painting in the style of the Ming Dynasty, titled "Lakes and Mountains Clear in the Distance". Depicts a large mountain with a lakeside village situated at its base. Two lines of black Chinese characters with two red seals, top left. Housed under glass in a giltwood frame with a light gold silk liner. Image: 59" H x 18 1/2" W. Sight: 60 1/2" H x 18 1/2" W. Framed: 66 1/4" H x 24 1/4" W. Qing Dynasty, late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Kentucky collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with areas of light staining or toning to silk, largest 4" x 1/2", notably at lower right border. Liner is not secured to frame. Not examined outside of frame.
