3 small German Dolls with bisque socket heads and composition bodies. 1st item: Armand Marseilles Googley Eyed doll, impressed model no. 253, brown wig, blue sleep eyes, wearing a white wool knit romper and hat with socks, 7"L. 2nd item: Max Rader Boy doll with open mouth and teeth, blue stationary eyes and short brown wig, striped shirt and blue shorts. Head marked Rader I 11/00. 9"H. 3rd item: 7" doll with open mouth and teeth, brown wig, blue sleep eyes, white cotton dress and painted shoes and stockings. Knit cape is likely later. Marked Germany R 13 R on back of head. Provenance: Estate of Frances R. Van Winkle, Knoxville, TN, daughter of Elsie Schmidt Jachowski, collector and past president of Dollogy Club of Washington, DC. Condition: Googley eyed doll has a 1/2" hairline, small grime specks on her forehead and nose, and a possible repair to neck. Rader doll has some facial grime and a hairline to lower leg. All exhibit some age related grime to bodies, wig wear, and age related discoloration of clothing.
