Oil on canvas portrait painting by Li Huaihui (Chinese, 20th century) depicting a young Chinese girl wearing a printed top and jade bracelet resting upon a chair with a contemplative countenance. Signed in Mandarin lower left "Li Huaihui" and 94-5 for May 1994. Housed in an ebonized and gilt beveled wood frame. Sight: 18 3/4" H x 22 3/4" W. Framed: 24" H x 27 5/8" W. Artist Biography: Li Huaihui was born in Beijing and graduated from the Affiliated High School of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1965. He is a member of the Beijing Artists Association and his oil paintings have been have been published in numerous professional journals, and exhibited at home and abroad. He held a solo exhibition in the Netherlands in 1993.
CONDITION: There is an area of tenting with minimal circular paint loss to the center left edge of the painting, near the frame. There is an oval area of repaint below the sitter''s left arm, approx. 2" H, and some scattered pinprick paint loss to the subject''s nose and wrist near the bracelet. Scattered small areas of tenting, largest measures 1/2" to the right margin. Frame with abrasions primarily to the corners.
