Lot 882: 3 Asian Carved & Painted Religious Figures

1st item: Carved and polychromed solid wood Buddhist monk sculpture on a pedestal with inscription. 6 3/4 in. H x 3 in. W x 3 in. D.  2nd item: Carved and polychromed solid wood Buddhist sculpture on a pedestal.  Paper label on bottom: “Figure of Buddha/gilt and polychrome / on wood / Japan / 1800’s.” Numbers written in ink under the label: “8473  P152 ZY.” 12 1/4 in. H x 4 in. W x 4 1/2 in. D. 3rd item: Carved and polychromed wood Feng Shui sculpture on a later pedestal.  Tuft of organic material attached to crown of head with wire. 14 1/2 in. H x 6 in. W x 4 in. D. All Late 19th/Early 20th century.

CONDITION: 1st item:  General paint loss overall; chip to the back right side of the wood base. 2nd item: General paint loss overall and a missing small piece on the nose. 3rd item: General flaking and paint loss to the original surface, and repainting in places.  Later pedestal created from a sign or crate fragment.
