Diminutive East Tennessee walnut blanket chest with turned feet. Poplar secondary throughout. Top with a canted molding opening to an interior with a till on the left side. Interior stile edges are canted. The right side back corner shows evidence where a till was considered. Iron hinges. Pegged case with bottom panel secured by square nails. Resting on turned Sheraton legs. 38 in. L x 15 in. W x 21 5/8 in. H. Likely Greene Co., TN, circa 1835.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Donna C. Rogers, Greeneville, TN.
CONDITION: Older refinish with right side molding of top missing. Top with stains and slight abrasions.
