Four (4) pieces Old Sheffield Plate, silver on copper. 1st item: George III Old Sheffield silver plate Rococo style coffee pot with ebonized wood or horn handle and finial, marked on underside of pot "19". 11 3/4"H. 2nd item: George III Old Sheffield silver plate Rococo style salver with scalloped sides adorned with shell designs, raised on ball and claw feet. Unmarked. 1" H, 7" dia. 3rd-4th items: Pair of Old Sheffield Plate chamber candlesticks with round pans and conical snuffers, both with double sun mark attributed to Matthew Boulton. 5 1/4" diameter. All items English, late 18th/early 19th century. Provenance: The estate of Dr. Benjamin H. Caldwell, Nashville, Tennessee. CONDITION: Finial on pot is loose and has some small cracks; spout has poorly repaired break to tip and is fragile. Scattered tiny dents to pot and light wear to raised elements, showing copper underneath. Tray: Light scratches and a few points of wear, showing copper underneath. Chamberstick: One snuffer's arm is bent at tip and it does not insert easily or sit perfectly straight.
