English Classical chest of drawers, mahogany veneer over secondary wood. Two-over-three cockbeaded and dovetailed drawer design, with a wood pull and brass keyhole, flanked by turned carved side columns, and resting on turned feet. Divider inside top drawer. 16 1/8 in. L x 7 7/8 in. W x 15 1/4 in. H. Mid-19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Ian M. Mathison, Murfreesboro TN and Big Rapids, MI.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. The top right drawer has an old break in the veneer, revealing wood beneath. No keys. Possible old blocking reinforcement for the rear feet.
