Four (4) Tennessee coin silver fiddle handled spoons. 1st item: 1 Tablespoon stamped D.T. WELLS in rectangle for Daniel Ivy Wells, working Bolivar, Hardiman County, 1833-c. 1876 and possibly Chattanooga, Hamilton County, c. 1860, monogram ECN. Rare. 2nd and 3rd item: 2 Tablespoons stamped J. REED in serrated rectangles for James Reed (working Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, 1832-1850), both monogrammed MP. 4th item: 1 Tablespoon with incuse mark JAMES REED, also attributed to James Reed of Murfreesboro, monogrammed A.R. Combined weight: 6.81 troy ounces. Ref. Tennessee Silversmiths by Dr. Benjamin Caldwell, pp. 143 and 167.
PROVENANCE: Private Southern Collection.
CONDITION: All spoons have wear to tips of bowls except for the one with incuse James Reed mark. All spoons monogrammed.
