Antique Turkman Ersari main carpet, wool on wool, with an all-over geometric design. Woven in colors of red, salmon, blue, and cream. 89 in x 73 in. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with uneven wear to pile, moderate to a few areas of heavy losses to each lower end. A couple of small postage stamp repairs to central field. No fringes present and carpet ends have been stitched to prevent further fraying.
