14K yellow gold National Society of the Colonial Dames of America medal engraved with the name of Mary E. Mason, #1269. The medal is marked “14K 585” and XRF tests 14K gold. The medal is 3 in. x 1 1/8 in. and has a gross weight of 16.53 grams. Note: Mary E. Mason of Ohio (b. 1854 – d. 1929) was a descendant of Roger Conant and Hugh Wilson, who arrived in the United States in the 1600s. Her father, William Bion Mason Sr., served in several capacities in the military and he was appointed by President Jackson and President Grant to positions as assessor and postmaster.
