Continental Fruitwood Biedermeier cabinet or small sideboard, pine secondary wood. Plain rectangular top with inlaid diamonds at corners, over a long frieze dovetailed drawer and two doors flanked by plain turned columns atop plinth bases. Ebonized shield shaped escutcheons, foot pads, column bases and capitals. Ink inscription and remnant of old Frankfurt label en verso. 35" H x 35" W x 19 1/4" D. Likely German, second quarter 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Richard J. Eskind, Nashville.
CONDITION: Some scattered shrinkage cracking, including to top. Repaired shrinkage cracks (vertical) to doors and scattered minor veneer repairs. Feet possibly replaced; ebonized base pads under feet are likely replaced. Lacking interior shelf.
