Shenandoah Valley of Virginia salt-glazed stoneware pottery jar, stamped IRELAND/DUEY/SHINNICK/MT. CRAWFORD, VA to the upper shoulder for the partnership of Matthew "Mathias" Patton Ireland (1827/28-1908), George W. Duey (1831-1903), and James Madison Shinnick (1813-1881). Straight cylindrical form with foliate cobalt highlights below the rim. 10 3/4" H.
CONDITION: Several scattered chips to the rim and some firing imperfections.
